A busy basketball Monday

It was a quiet weekend for college basketball, but today has made up for lost time.

Here's the latest grad transfer news:

Noah Yates, F, graduate transfer from Yale to Richmond.

Malik Martin, F, grad transfer from South Florida to Tennessee Tech.

Xavian Stapleton, G, graduate transfer from Mississippi State to Florida Atlantic.

Eric Lockett, G, grad transfer from Florida International to North Carolina State.

Matt Mooney, G, graduate transfer from South Dakota to Texas Tech.

Also, we learned today that Stone Gettings, a forward, will grad transfer from Cornell.

Baylor grabs a QB

Another quarterback has announced his graduate transfer destination.

Jalan McClendon, formerly of N.C. State, is taking a grad transfer to Baylor. A dual-purpose QB, McClendon threw for 262 yards and ran for 223 in 14 career games for the Wolfpack. He adds immediate depth for the Bears, who only have two scholarship signal callers this spring. McClendon has one year of eligibility remaining.

Busy day for Grad Transfer QBs

Three Power 5 quarterbacks have announced their intention to take graduate transfers for the 2018 season.

Jalan McClendon is leaving North Carolina State after backing up Ryan Finley for the last two seasons. He attempted just three passes in 2017. He'll have one year of eligibility to play college football elsewhere after he graduates in May.

Quinten Dormady, a part time starter for Tennessee last season, is also moving on. He started in five games before ultimately losing the job to Jarrett Guarantano in a lost season for Tennessee. He made 17 appearances in three years for the Volunteers.

And Evan Shirreffs, the backup QB at Miami this year, is taking a grad transfer after he graduates in the spring. He played in three games this year and four in his career. He's the rare three year graduate, meaning he gets two years to play college football at his next school.

And that's now five grad transfers from Miami this season - four leaving and one coming in.
