Getting caught up on college football news

Quite a few grad transfers to note in college football this week.

Georgia Tech added two FCS graduate transfers this week. Malik Rivera, a defensive back, will grad transfer in from Wofford. Zach Roberts, a long snapper, is taking his grad transfer from Lamar. We always love seeing FCS guys getting a chance at a big time school thanks to the graduate transfer rule!

Will Gragg, a tight end, will grad transfer from Arkansas to Pitt. He has two years of college football remaining.

Andrew Mike, an offensive lineman, will take graduate transfer from Florida to Rice.

Nick Watkins, a defensive back, is heading to Houston, having taken his grad transfer from Notre Dame.

Brinkley Jolly, an offensive lineman, is taking his graduate transfer from Wyoming to SMU.

Updating college football activity

Here's what's been happening for college football grad transfers over the last couple of days.

Noah Fisher, an offensive lineman, will take a graduate transfer from South Alabama to Tulane.

Vaha Vainuku, a defensive lineman, will grad transfer from Utah to Nebraska.

Van Johnson, a wide receiver, can grad transfer from Mississippi to Florida, thanks to a rule change about graduate transfers within the SEC.

Cequan Jefferson, a defensive back, is taking a graduate transfer from Temple to Stony Brook.

Plenty of football transfer activity

As the semester draws to a close and post-spring depth charts come out, we're seeing a spike in college football grad transfers.

Nick Harvey is now on the committed graduate transfer list. He's a defensive back and is leaving Texas A&M for South Carolina.

New to the Other Grad Transfers list is Matt Shiel, a punter who is taking a grad transfer to Mercer. He's a particularly interesting graduate transfer because he started his career at Mercer, transferred home to Australia, and is coming back for grad school where he started. This counts as a grad transfer because his eligibility clock started during his first stint on campus.

Three other players announced their intent to take grad transfers today:

Jalen Williams, Linebacker, Pittsburgh

Dennis Edwards, Offensive Lineman, Western Kentucky

Andrew Mike, Offensive Lineman, Florida

Another Hurricane moving on

Nick Linder, a former starting center for Miami (FL), will play his college football at Indiana next year. Linder sat out the 2017 season, having left the team over the summer. That said, he played as a true freshman and appeared in 26 games over his career with the Canes, meaning he's eligible as a graduate transfer for the Hoosiers. Linder will enroll in the spring at Indiana.

Linder is the third grad transfer away from Miami this week.

Dillard to play college football at North Carolina

Cameron Dillard, formerly of Florida, is taking a graduate transfer to UNC. Dillard started 20 games over his career for the Gators on the offensive line. He's been one of the bigger names on the transfer market this spring, especially because he's already married and has a kid. He has one year of eligibility left in 2017.
