Weekend Updates

College basketball grad transfers seem to have slowed down a bit, but there's been quite a bit of movement for college football this weekend.

Joe Burrow, a quarterback, is taking his long-expected grad transfer from Ohio State to LSU.

Dallas Warmack, an offensive lineman, will graduate transfer from Alabama to Oregon.

Kiy Hester, a defensive back, is taking a grad transfer from Rutgers to Florida International.

Additionally, Cam Jefferies, a defensive back, announced his intention to seek a graduate transfer from Bowling Green.

Also Bobby Hartzog, a wide receiver, is now on the Other Grad Transfers list after announcing his grad transfer from Kansas to FCS Texas Southern.

Morgan takes grad transfer to Florida International

James Morgan, a quarterback from Bowling Green, will finish up his eligibility at Florida International. He made 13 starts and appeared in 19 games for the Falcons over two years, and he will have two years of college football left when he joins the Golden Panthers this summer. Morgan originally announced his intention to be a graduate transfer back in November.

Two MAC linebackers seeking grad transfers

Austin Valdez, a redshirt junior who had an All-Conference season for Bowling Green in 2015, is looking to play college football at a different school next year. Bowling Green's fortunes dipped after a coaching change before 2016, and Valdez was hurt for much of the season. But many schools are likely to be eager for the services of a player who logged an incredible 144 tackles two seasons ago.

Robert Spillane, who has spent his career at Western Michigan, is also keen to take a graduate transfer next season. His status is a bit more unclear - it's not certain right now if the true junior has the credits to graduate this spring. There's also major questions if he's trying to follow his former coach to Minnesota. The intrigue is high with this one.
