A month and a half after announcing his intention to leave, Gus Edwards has decided to leave Miami for Rutgers next season. Edwards backed up Duke Johnson and Joseph Yearby during his Hurricanes career. He'll moving closer to his native New York City as a graduate transfer, after he graduates in May. Edwards' transfer was noteworthy for the restrictions placed on him. Syracuse was a front-runner for Edwards (he originally committed there in 2012), but was blocked from moving there because Miami plays Syracuse this fall.
Thomas Sirk, one of the most successful quarterbacks in Duke history, announced that he will also be taking a graduate transfer. Sirk missed his fifth year and final year at Duke this a torn Achilles tendon. He has been granted a sixth year of eligibility and will have a rare opportunity - the chance to complete a second graduate degree.
